Sky Steel Group supplies PPGL steel coils and sheets (Prepainted Galvalume Steel) for roofing panels, wall cladding, industrial workshops, and roll-forming fabrication. Produced with a 55% Aluminum-Zinc alloy substrate (GL), our PPGL products provide 2 to 4 times higher corrosion resistance and superior heat reflectivity compared to standard PPGI (galvanized steel).

Forming & Fabrication

Our PPGL steel is engineered for cold roll-forming, bending, corrugating, and shearing without paint cracking or delamination. The optimized epoxy primer layer provides exceptional adhesion between the Galvalume substrate and the topcoat, achieving a strict T-bend rating of ≤ 2T–3T.

With high yield strength and thermal reflectivity, PPGL sheet is widely processed into standing seam roofing, trapezoidal profiles, sandwich panel facings, and exterior building envelopes. Slit coils and custom-length sheets are available for direct feeding into high-speed profiling lines.

Where Is PPGL Steel Used?

PPGL (Prepainted Galvalume) steel combines the high mechanical strength of steel with the sacrificial and barrier protection of 55% Al-Zn alloy coating. It is widely specified for commercial roofing, industrial cladding, agricultural facilities, and pre-engineered metal buildings requiring superior weatherability.

Steel Structure Roofing & Commercial Enclosures

PPGL prepainted steel sheets are installed on large-span steel framing for commercial complexes, logistics parks, and distribution centers. The 55% Al-Zn Galvalume substrate reflects up to 75% of solar radiation, reducing interior building temperatures and cutting HVAC energy costs in hot climates.

PPGL Steel Structure Roofing Installation

Roof Renovation & Insulated Corrugated Panels

For upgrading aged industrial roofs, PPGL corrugated sheets and insulated composite panels provide long-term weather resistance without heavy structural modifications. The baked polymer coating resists acid rain, industrial pollutants, and surface chalking, extending building life by decades.

PPGL Corrugated Roof Renovation

Industrial Workshops & Heavy Manufacturing Facilities

Applied across manufacturing plants, metallurgical facilities, and equipment hangars as exterior wall cladding and ceiling liners. High-strength base grades (such as G550) provide high load-bearing capacity against heavy winds, seismic movements, and heavy mechanical vibrations.

PPGL Cladding in Industrial Workshop

Roll Forming, Slitting & Profile Manufacturing

Supplied in master coils and custom-slit strips for downstream profiling into standing seam panels, tile profiles, ridge caps, and architectural flashing. Our continuous coil-coating process ensures uniform paint film thickness, tight color tolerance (ΔE ≤ 0.8), and clean bending performance.

PPGL Steel Coils for Roll Forming

Coastal Facilities & Seaworthy Export Packaging

Engineered for harsh coastal climates and overseas delivery. Every coil and palletized sheet is protected with multi-layer anti-corrosion barrier paper, zinc-plated steel corner shields, and radial/circumferential steel straps to prevent salt spray ingress during ocean container and break-bulk transport.

Frequently Asked Questions About Prepainted Galvalume Steel Coil 0.35mm PPGL – Custom Colors

1. What is the difference between PPGI and PPGL steel?

The core difference lies in the metallic substrate. PPGI (Prepainted Galvanized Steel) uses a pure zinc coating (100% Zn), whereas PPGL (Prepainted Galvalume Steel) uses an alloy coating composed of 55% Aluminum, 43.4% Zinc, and 1.6% Silicon. The aluminum component forms an inert barrier oxide, providing PPGL with 2 to 4 times greater corrosion resistance and significantly higher heat reflectivity in outdoor atmospheric exposure.

2. Which paint coating system (PE, SMP, HDP, PVDF) should I choose for PPGL?

Selection depends on climate, UV intensity, and budget requirements:

• Polyester (PE): Standard choice for general indoor cladding and moderate outdoor climates (7–10 year color life).

• High-Durability Polyester (HDP): Formulated for high UV exposure and tropical regions (12–15 year warranty).

• Silicon Modified Polyester (SMP): Superior surface hardness and abrasion resistance for sandy or industrial areas.

• Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF): Premium fluoropolymer system for severe coastal, chemical, or heavy industrial zones (20–25+ year color retention).

3. What thicknesses, widths, and AZ coating weights can Sky Steel Group supply?

We supply PPGL coils and sheets with thicknesses from 0.12 mm to 2.0 mm and widths from 600 mm to 1250 mm (custom slitting available). Galvalume coating weights range from AZ30 to AZ150 g/m². Common export thicknesses include 0.18 mm, 0.25 mm, 0.35 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.45 mm, 0.50 mm, and 0.60 mm.

4. Will the paint crack or peel during bending and roll-forming?

No. Our PPGL coils pass strict T-bend tests (≤ 2T–3T) and impact resistance tests (≥ 9 J). The chemically treated substrate and elastic epoxy primer ensure tight paint adhesion that withstands high-speed corrugating, lock-forming, and crimping without micro-cracking or flaking.

5. What is the expected service life of PPGL roofing and wall cladding?

In normal atmospheric environments, PPGL with standard AZ50 coating and PE paint provides 15 to 20 years of service life. With an AZ100–AZ150 coating and PVDF or HDP topcoat, PPGL can achieve a service life of 25 to 35+ years without structural perforation.

6. How are PPGL coils and sheets packed for international sea freight?

All shipments use heavy-duty export seaworthy packaging: internal waterproof kraft paper, plastic vapor barrier wrap, galvanized steel outer protective covers, inner/outer steel corner rings, and at least 3 radial and 3 circumferential high-tensile steel straps. Coils are secured on sturdy wooden pallets (eye-to-sky or eye-to-wall) with desiccant bags placed inside containers to eliminate condensation.
