Sky Steel Group manufactures and exports hot-dip galvanized steel sheets and flat plates across Regular Spangle and Zero / Non-Spangle surface finishes. Engineered for corrugated roofing tile roll-forming, wall cladding, electrical enclosures, HVAC duct fabrication, and automotive/appliance stamping, our galvanized sheets feature zinc coatings from Z30 to Z275 (heavy zinc up to Z600 g/m²) in thicknesses from 0.12 mm to 6.0 mm. All products conform to ASTM A653, EN 10346 (DX51D+Z / S350GD+Z), JIS G3302 (SGCC), and GB/T 2518.

Spangle Metallurgy, Flatness & Fabrication Advantages

Our galvanized steel sheets undergo continuous hot-dip galvanizing followed by inline precision tension leveling. Regular spangle sheets exhibit a natural snowflake-like zinc crystal grain structure, providing high metallic luster and aesthetic appeal for exposed roofing tiles, grain bins, and architectural cladding. Zero spangle (non-spangle) sheets are produced using a lead-free molten zinc bath and 4-high skin-pass rolling, creating a uniform satin-smooth substrate that completely prevents paint pinholes and orange-peel texture during downstream powder coating and appliance stamping.

Each sheet pack is leveled with zero residual internal stress, ensuring clean, wave-free edges during laser cutting, guillotine shearing, and deep drawing. High-ductility grades (DX53D / ASTM A653 FS) allow 180° tight bending and lock-seaming without zinc flaking or microscopic surface micro-cracking.

Where Are Spangle and Zero Spangle Galvanized Steel Sheets Used?

Hot-dip galvanized steel sheets provide long-term atmospheric corrosion resistance, superior surface flatness, and excellent roll-forming formability. From traditional sparkling spangles for agricultural roofing to clean non-spangle sheets for modern architecture and modular construction, our sheet products serve diverse global industries.

Surface Finish Comparison: With Zinc Spangle vs. Without Zinc Spangle

With Zinc Spangle (Regular Spangle ): Exhibits distinct crystalline flower-like spangle patterns with pronounced metallic sheen. Preferred across building roofing, air ducts, silos, and general industrial fabrication where natural zinc appearance is specified.

Without Zinc Spangle (Non-Spangle / Zero Spangle ): Formulated with lead-free zinc bath chemistry and skin-pass rolling, presenting a uniform, clean silver-gray satin finish. Delivers enhanced surface smoothness for post-painting, home appliance housings, automotive stampings, and premium architectural facades.

Building Construction: Corrugated Roofing, Facades & Modular Housing

Widely deployed across global infrastructure and commercial projects. High-strength galvanized sheets (DX51D / S350GD / S550GD) are roll-formed into corrugated roof tiles for industrial warehouses, flat facade panels for commercial complexes, residential pitched roofs, and exterior walls for prefabricated modular container houses.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Sheet 0.5×1250×2500mm, Z120 Zinc Coating, Compliant with JIS G3302 & ASTM A653

1. What is the primary difference between Regular Spangle and Zero Spangle galvanized steel sheets?

The difference lies in surface texture, visual aesthetics, and post-painting compatibility:

• Regular Spangle : Features visible, sparkling snowflake-like crystal patterns formed during natural cooling. It offers a classic industrial appearance and is widely used for unpainted applications like corrugated roofing tiles, ventilation ducts, and agricultural silos.

• Zero Spangle : Formulated in a lead-free molten zinc bath and temper-rolled via skin-pass mill, yielding a uniform satin-smooth matte finish. It provides a defect-free substrate for electrostatic powder coating, direct painting, appliance exterior casings, and automotive panels without spangle pattern read-through.

2. How do I select the proper zinc coating weight (Z30 to Z275+)?

Zinc mass directly dictates atmospheric corrosion service life:

• Light Zinc (Z30 – Z60 g/m²): Ideal for dry indoor environments, interior ductwork, and sheets intended for immediate post-painting.

• Standard Commercial Zinc (Z80 – Z140 g/m²): Suitable for standard roofing tiles, residential wall siding, and general mechanical components in moderate climates.

• Heavy Zinc (Z180 – Z275 g/m² / Z350–Z600): Engineered for coastal regions, high-humidity tropical zones, industrial chemical plants, and heavy-duty infrastructure requiring 25–40+ years of rust-free service life.

3. What are the standard sheet dimensions and custom cut-to-length tolerances?

We supply standard global sheet sizes:

• Widths: 914 mm (3ft), 1000 mm (1m), 1200 mm, 1219 mm (4ft), 1250 mm, and 1500 mm (5ft).

• Lengths: 1829 mm (6ft), 2438 mm (8ft), 3048 mm (10ft), 3658 mm (12ft), and 6000 mm.

• Precision Tolerances: Length tolerance ±1 mm, width tolerance ±1 mm, and diagonal squareness difference ≤2 mm with zero edge burrs.

4. What surface passivation and anti-rust treatments are provided to prevent white rust?

To prevent wet-storage stain (white rust) during sea transit and job-site storage:

• Chromated Passivation (Cr3+ RoHS / Cr6+ Free): Forms a microscopic protective barrier against atmospheric oxidation.

• Anti-Fingerprint (AFP): Transparent or tinted acrylic resin film providing fingerprint smudge resistance and superior press forming lubricity.

• Oiled / Unoiled: Vanishing anti-rust oil (500–1500 mg/m²) for long-distance maritime shipping, or unoiled/dry for immediate powder coating.

5. What steel grades are recommended for bending, stamping vs high-load roofing?

We supply both forming and structural steel grades:

• Lock-Forming & Deep Drawing: DX51D+Z (standard lock-forming quality), DX52D+Z (drawing quality), and DX53D+Z (deep drawing quality) for tight 180° hem bending and stamping without zinc flaking.

• Structural & High Yield: S250GD, S350GD (yield ≥350 MPa), and S550GD (Full Hard G550, yield ≥550 MPa) for corrugated roofing sheets and floor decking requiring maximum wind-load and span resistance.

6. How are galvanized steel sheets packaged and loaded for bulk vessel and container export?

Sheets are packaged in Heavy-Duty Iron Sheet Packing : inner waterproof kraft paper + polyethylene film + all-around galvanized steel jacket casing + heavy metal corner protectors + 4 longitudinal & 3 transverse high-tensile steel straps on solid fumigated wooden pallets (1.5–3.0 MT per pack). In 20GP containers, sheet bundles are stacked with wooden dunnage sleepers and secured with steel wire rope lashing to prevent movement during ocean transit.
